No doubt we're all excited for our hometown homeboy Lin, but there's definitely some mixed thoughts on the new uniform. It's great we have a new logo, but the overall design personally makes me think of "recreation league." Maybe D-League. Man it's been a while since I posted something on here but with Pacquiao NOT fighting Mayweather on November, I have some thoughts about this:
Pacman-Mayweather is what the public, media, and probably both fighters want. But promoters like Arum has to put their ego first and tell Floyd when to sign if they he doesn't, they find some other fight just because they want some money out of it. No wonder boxing is a dying sport!!!
If Arum really wanted to get this 'megafight' in the works, why didn't he just talk to Pacman and Floyd's people to agree on when to negotiate for this fight? You can't just tell someone like Floyd when to sign knowing full well that he probably didn't want to talk about it yet. Arum and Floyd may not be the best of friends but that does not stop you from making something like this happen.
You think if Pacman had a promoter other than Bob Arum, may a Pacman-Mayweather fight may still have been a possibility for this year??
I'm guessing this will be a Holyfield-Tyson deal in which they will eventually fight when they are a bit past their prime but it could of happen when they were in their prime!!!!

Another Wrestler Takes a Stab in MMA

Well Folks It's been a while since my last post but Here's some news that some of us will deem news worthy.

With Bastista Quitting the WWE for who knows how long. There is a report that he will try MMA. Below is the article of him doing some MMA training at the Affliction Gym (U know those tight extra medium Afflicition t-shirts that every buff Bald headed wannabe MMA fighter wears at the club nowadays. Well yeah they have a gym). But if you watch the video he's training for a fight for Cancer fundraiser. Nothing is certain but don't be surprise that Bastista becomes another wrestler making the Jump to MMA. Though we don't know what kind of success he'll have but let's face it MMA is a fast growing sport and with that entails and untapped market for fighters to be more famous and get rich. Why Do you think everyone is now training at a MMA gym? By the way I own 5 affliction t-shirts but I don't have Bastista's Upper body yet to rock them. I'll Stick with baggy XL shirts for now.

In Other wrestling news, Low Ki, Former ROH & TNA wrestling superstar, is in the WWE Developmental wrestling organization FCW, where he is going by the ring name of Kaval. In an Recent interview Low Ki stated that the name means Warrior or Solider in Tagalog (aww Yeahh). But the real spelling is in tagalog is Kawal. WWE execs said that name would not appeal to the casual fan hence the change from Kawal to Kaval. I'm Sure Bri knows this and Leroid is jumping (Metaphorically speaking of course! Sorry, Roids) out of his seats with this little nugget of news .

Enjoy the fights and on a side note I just wanna say this about pro wrestling, particuarly the WWE, Their dead to me. Stories aren't compelling as they used to, Wrestlers aren't compelling characters that used to grab my attention and make me cheer or boo for them. Maybe I'm getting older or maybe my attention has switched to MMA, although I find that hard to believe cuz I followed MMA while Pro wrestling was at their peak. I don't know what the reason is but I literally can't sit through any of the shows now. I'll be only paying attention to Daniel Bryan on WWE NXT and can't wait to see Low Ki or Kaval make his debut when his time comes just because I've seen them wrestle during the early days of ROH. But Pro wrestling will always be in my heart but I just can't watch it regularly anymore. It's sad to say that but I won't lose all hope.

UFC 114 prediction: Rampage Via Decision. But I won't be suprise if Evans wins in boring fashion i.e. Takedowns and controlling top position on the ground for the full 3 rounds. I hope it's a slug it out war.

Batman XXX: A Porn Parody [Trailer 1]

Looks really damn fuckin' clean. Vivid-Superhero, a new company under..Vivid, plans on bringin' out Superman XXX and Spider-Man XXX in the future. And they plan on staying true to the actual source material with a dash of XXX to it. I'm not aware of a 'red-band' trailer of this so far. There's other Vivid-parodies out there like Beverly Hills 90210 and Saved By The Bell. But 'Superhero' is where it's fuckin' at.

New Dubs Logo?!

KNBR sports talk radio host Damon Bruce put on his facebook page the new logo for the Warriors for the upcoming season. Don't know if this is legit or not but I like it if it is. Kind of a throwback look with modern feel(the new Bay Bridge). Colors are back to the popular blue and yellow. No leaks of the uniforms yet, which are supposed to be unveiled at the NBA draft. With this and new ownership hopefully on the way soon, the W's are starting fresh....again.

Ok, so I was watchin' TNA Impact last week. If you do watch TNA, then you already understand that they make mistake after mistake. The most glaring mistakes seem to be when they cut to reactions too early.

... Fan film to be exact. This "Street Fighter: Legacy" fan-made short film is superbly done. Sometimes the best films are the short ones- even if they don't feature Van Damme or Lana Lang. Major props to Directors Joey Ansah and Owen Trevor from Streetlight Films (UK). Enjoy.

More trailers for your enjoyment! Sometime last year, a trailer for this extremely low budget flick was circulating in the net. I watched the trailer, laughed, and forgot about it. Filmed in the Bay Area (Half Moon Bay) by a San Jose software salesman and first-time filmmaker, James Nguyen, "Birdemic" is now making worldwide mainstream news! It's a cult hit! The buzz on this film is everywhere! It's now been bought by a distributor and a sequel is the works. Apparently, it's a serious film according to Nguyen, who wanted to pay homage to Hitchcock thrillers. Well, it's hard to hate on someone living the American Dream and I congratulate the man for pushing his product.

... And I thought "Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus" was EPIC!

Yes, this is a real horror film, courtesy IFC Films. It definitely adds some flair and a "twist" to the gore/ torture film franchise. The fact that this is "100% Medically Accurate" makes it much more sickening and intriguing all at once. Midnight screening anyone?

So some of ya'll may remember that I did some design work for Bastard & Friends, a Bay Area-based independent apparel company. Designs involved characters representing "bastards" we encounter in real life. Hello Otamatone!

This neat lil' gadget straight from Japan, Otamatone, has been making some buzz in the toy community for some time. I finally decided to go for it (purchased on eBay) and I absolutely love it. It's an actual musical instrument. Luckily wifey Fatima has a background in music so she's been able to play some simple tunes. The video displayed is just one example of how it works. Go on YouTube and you'll find all sorts of people playing tunes with the Otamatone.

Achilles!!!

If you're thinking what you think it is then you thought right! On Sunday morning (4/11), around 11:30am, I tore my right Achilles tendon while playing basketball. It truly felt as if someone kicked the back of your leg ala leg sweep (as many Orthopedic specialists would describe). The pain was ridiculous, but tolerable. After a brief rest, I was actually able to hobble to my car, pick up some grub at L&L (Chicken Katsu and Hamburger Patty mini plates in case you're wondering), and drive home (yes, with my right foot). Despite knowing that I tore my Achilles, many dudes on the court insisted that it was a "high ankle sprain." Um, hello.

This is my first major injury ever. Cool I guess. An injury of this nature is something I would usually read in sport pages (recent example,David Beckham). Surgery for this bad boy is set for sometime this Thursday at the UCSF Orthopedic Institute over at Mission Bay. Initially, I will be out of commission for a few weeks. Although I'm happy to say that I can expect a full recovery, it's going to take a very long time. I'm sure some of you may have suffered something severe that required major surgery? Props to you.

I guess now I'll have a story to share. What better way to describe "How I Tore My Achilles" is through YouTube!!!

A bit of a shock since lots of people expected him to be on broadcast TV and sign on with Fox. But going on cable will give him more freedom to do the skits that he did while on Late Night maybe will help George Lopez's show, which will be on after Conan's show. BTW, I think Lopez is a very funny dude but his late night show isnt that great.

Canadian Zip Line...

in SF?



A 600-foot zip line is currently set up at Justin Herman Plaza to help promote the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.



You need to obtain a wristband and wait for a scheduled time. Seems like the wait has been long. But it's FREE to ride and will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The last day to try it out is April 18.

for being the most winning est coach in the NBA(for now). Although he has not won a title as a coach, Nellie has brought in innovative ways to run offenses. Exploring mismatches mainly using smaller lineups, Don Nelson has brought fast paced and fun basketball not only to his coaching duties in Oakland, Dallas, and Milwaukee but throughout the whole NBA with coaches like Mike D'Antoni using that type of pace.
With possibly new ownership coming in for the W's, they may buy out Nellie's contract and force him into retirement(which they should do). But for now, let's raise our liquid cocaine shots for Don Nelson!!!!

Rumor: Warriors to Unveil New Uniforms on Draft Night

I suppose the good news continues to emanate from 1101 Broadway.

WarriorsWorld.net is reporting the Warriors are scheduled to unveil a new logo and new uniforms on draft night

"Sources who have seen the artist rendering of the possible new logo describe it as an updated version of the team logo from the Run TMC era, the new logo will be a circular logo with a silhouette of the new Bay Bridge Tower and the words “Golden State” on the top to the circle and “Warriors” on the bottom of the circle. The alternate road jerseys will be  a gold color, similar to the “The City” jerseys."

 Along with the team announcing it is up for sale, a high lottery pick and the bare notion that they would scrap the Thunder-inspired unis, we have to be very pleased to possibly start -- gulp -- watching again.

Geeks unite! WonderCon- The annual gathering of pop-culture, comic-book lovin', toy frenzy, sci-fi fanatical, wallet busting enthusiasts (plus kids and such) is coming to the Moscone Center (special shout out to Kris), April 2-4. Last year, I had an awesome time representing Bastard & Friends, a company which I did some artwork for. Should the Niners McNabb Him

Their are articles saying that the Eagles have expressed interest in trading one their three QBs(Donovan, Vick, and Kolb) and the most likely to be traded is McNabb. The Rayduhs seem to have the most interest of getting him. But should the niners get him. I'm on the fence on this one, McNabb is a pro-bowl QB and would instantly help the niners getting into the playoffs for the next 2-3 years. He would also help groom Nate Davis to be the QB of the future for the niners. On the other hand Donovan is heading closer to the finish line of his NFL career and hasn't played a full season in five years. Plus they have that alex smith guy over in Santa Clara. So should Jed, Paraag, Singletary, the receptionist, or whoever the hell is making the decision for the niners pull off a trade for Donovan??

Look who are the niners pursuing

With the niners lacking in defensive backs and in dire need of a returner, they have been interested with one Pacman Jones. Although the pacman didn't play this past season, the potential of signing him would definitely help out the niners fill those needs with his great skills in cornerback and as a returner.

He would also help out the bay area strip clubs. So don't be suprised if he's at Broadway or crazyhorse anytime soon.

Truckee got no love for sculptures

MTV was doing a shooting a stunt that focuses on the sculpture but the people of Truckee were not very happy with it. Maybe if the residents were hugging the sculpture, they would have embraced it. Best line in the article,

Given the pronunciation similarities between the name of New Jersey’s Mile Square City “Hoboken,” and Ryu’s infamous catch phrase “hadouken,” it’s amazing someone hasn’t come up with the idea sooner. An artist had some fun with the sign for Interstate 76 East, adding Ryu and his well known fireball command combo execution.

Nicely done! Unfortunately, this little alteration was done on the computer, as the real Interstate sign still leads you to Hoboken. Regardless, Capcom should take a look at this. It’s this kind of crazy idea that may be great inspiration for your upcoming Super Street Fighter IV marketing campaign.
