Bottomless Carwash?

Me and Joyce were driving in Oakland the other day and I saw this. Maybe instead of using soap they use...... aww yeahhh...

Danny! To the Batcave!!

So apparently the Indiana Pacer's own Danny Granger is a fellow fanboy geek. And now he is earning my respect.

According to NBA.com, Granger has been building his own Batcave somewhere in New Mexico. POW!

"He likes to dabble in different things," says his agent, Mark Bartelstein."

Complying with building codes has pushed the completion of his Batcave back a few years though. OUCH!

"I think when I build a house a couple years down the line, I was telling my fiancĂ©e I wanted to have – once again with the superhero thing – you know how Batman drives into a hidden cave? I'm serious. I even met with like a builder and ask if this would be possible -- have a secret entrance to my house that no one knows about. Make it look like whatever, but have a secret way I can get to my house that I could drive my car in. It would probably cost way too much money but I really may think about doing that. Like seriously. I'm dead serious."

The future crib...uh....cave will include the now not so secret underground garage with surrounding moat. I'm a bit at a loss for words but definitely eager to see how it turns out. Maybe Batpoles can double as stripper poles. BANG!

Coming soon to theaters: Black Dynamite!

This is one of the most talked about films to come out of this year's Sundance Film Festival. Black Dynamite stars Michael Jai White (Spawn, Dark Knight, Tyson, Undisputed II, Universal Solder: The Return) as the titular character, a former CIA agent, who seeks revenge on The Man. It's an absolute tribute (spoof) to the Blaxploitation films of the 70s like Shaft and Superfly. So it has all the cheesy elements like choppy editing, off timing stunt work, boom mic in the frame, pause in between dialogues, etc. If you look around the web, you can find the red band (i.e. naughty) trailer to the film. Lots of cameos and porn stars. The film was picked up by Sony for distribution. The movie's website also has cool merchandise.

Speaking of cool, here's a clip of Big Jim Slade from Kentucky Fried Movie (dedicated to fellow blogger, movie buff, and pop geek, Bri):

Black Dynamite is coming to theaters October 16.

S-p-i-d-e-r M-o-u-s-e. Disney buys Marvel for $4 Billion

This has to be the biggest news to ever hit the geekdom! The Walt Disney Co. is buying Marvel Entertainment Inc. for $4 billion in cash and stock. From Associated Press, "under the deal, which was announced Monday and is expected to close by the end of the year, Disney will acquire the rights to 5,000 Marvel characters."

This is just nuts, but I'm totally in favor of it. Yes, this purchase will make Disney an ultimate media company for years to come. It's perfect timing because Marvel has recently been skyrocketing with independently produced projects like the "Iron Man" movie and their DVD animations. With Disney on board, these Marvel projects can get much more global distribution and merchandise support.

Of course with Disney getting the rights to over 5,000 Marvel characters, you can imagine this... Walt Disney's "Ghost Rider and the Seven Dwarves." Now Disneyland will start adding Marvel flavor to their rides like Dr. Doom's Splash Mountain. Or video games like Marvel vs. Disney vs. Capcom. The ever popular Comic Con in San Diego will now be invaded by geeks in Little Mermaid costumes with Wolverine claws.

Or how about this other diabolical Disney Marvel collab costume?

A good night for Filipino Fighters and their Fans. Sorry about the other post.

The Supposed Walkout T-shirt of Brandon Vera @ UFC102. He actually Came out to an Affliction T-shirt at the Event. But this shirt looks better.

Alright Fight fans for many who dont know last Night's UFC 102 Showacased two of the most notable Filipino fighters in MMA. Mark Munoz, who resides in Vallejo, CA won a split decision over Nick Catone. The Fight was fast paced that lasted three 5 minute rounds.

Munoz, A Former Oklahoma St. All-american Wrestler, made his debut in the 185 Division and showed that the drop from the 205 division wasn't a factor in his first win in the UFC. Probably laid off the trip to Goldilocks for some pancit Palabok and Halo Halo.

Munoz displayed some good Ground and pound and threw some good punches and combinations. Thought he missed a couple of takedowns Munoz, still persevered and turned it on in the 2nd and 3rd round with good combinations, submission attempts, and Ground and pound, to earn the decision.

He might not be in line a title shot against Anderson Silva but he looks like he's on his way.

In the Main Card, Brandon "the Truth" Vera man Handled Krzysztof Soszynski in Vera's 3rd bout in the 205 light Heavy weight division, Win via Unanimous Decision.

Vera, who resides in San Diego, came out looking like his former self with excellent Muay Thai Striking skills and excellent Takedown Defense.

Soszynski Took a vicious Body Kick early in the first round from Vera and that set up the table for Vera to display his full arsenal of Kicks and punches.

The only Knock on Vera was in a fight where he control the stand up with his speed and skill he didn't bother to look for the knockout but rather pick Soszynski apart for all three rounds.

Overall, The UFC 102 PPV was alright. But it was a better night for filipino fighters and their Fans.

Sure Manny Pacquiao is the first that comes to mind when we talk about Fighters but dont disregard Munoz and Vera because they're slowing creeping up and pretty soon we could have Filipinos ruling MMA and Boxing.

So, raise you San Miguel beer bottles and salute your fellow Pinoy Fighters in a job well done last night.

What's Next Filipino Fighters:

Phillippe Nover (Ultimate Fighter runner-up) will fight Sam Stout on Sept 16 Free on Spike TV.

Benson "Smooth" Henderson will fight Greg Jackson Student Donald "the Cowboy" Cerrone for the Interim WEC Lightweight Championship. That will be show on the Versus network ,Channel 81 for comccast users, on Sunday October 10, 2009.

Then, for those who dont know, Manny Pacquaio will fight Miguel Cotto in Vegas on Saturday Nov. 14 @ the MGM grand.

Enjoy the Fights People. If I forgot to mention any other notbale filipino fighters via smaller shows. Feel free to chime in.

A good night For Filipino MMA fighters and their fans
