Below is the very same Rusty Simmons post in the Chronicle....with the exception that I added my own personal touches (mmmm...personal touches). Again, it's not the end of the world, just more reminders that it blew up a while ago.
The Warriors confirmed Thursday that they (suck) have acquired (like a airborne virus) wing Devean George from Toronto for guard Marco Belinelli (wait there's less). As part of the deal (sounds like a KFC meal), the Warriors (fans should) also receive cash considerations (for continuing to put up with this crap).
"We're looking forward to (lowering attendance) adding a veteran with Devean's (meager)experience to our squad," general manager Larry Riley in a news release. "He is obviously a proven winner (like when??!! like at chess or something!!) and has been on several very successful (how bout just several) teams during his career, which is something we feel is important (winning can also be important in sports) when you look at the youth on our roster (the poor kids have no idea do they). He is a versatile player (this guy?) and someone who we feel can contribute both on (he can stretch then sit) and off the court (he cashes his check regularly)."
George, 31, has played the last three seasons with Dallas after spending the first seven years of his career with the Lakers. Last season he appeared in 43 games for the Mavericks, averaging 3.4 points and 1.8 rebounds in 16.5 minutes (oh, that "proven winner"). The 6-foot-8 wing (I rather get KFC) has appeared in 86 playoff games (if you count NBA 2k8 franchise mode), including four trips to the NBA Finals (wow, he was on those teams?). Belinelli, 23, appeared in 42 games for the Warriors last season, averaging 8.9 points and 2.1 assists in 21 minutes a contest (so what. is he a "proven winner"?) Originally selected with the 18th overall selection in the 2007 NBA Draft, Belinelli owns career averages of 6.2 points, 1.4 assists and 15 minutes in 75 games (So, when do we trade Wright?).
well nellie needed someone to player center and backup pf. george is 6'8" standing up, I don't wanna know what's his height laying down.
ReplyDeletewhat about addition by subtraction? i guess it's riley's way of installing confidence in morrow and stephen. the niners did a similar thing in where they gave away tim rattay when they drafted alex smith?
would've you rather trade belli or morrow? i guess the w's believe morrow has more upside.
You should do this when the local media quotes from Larry Riley, Nelson, and Bobby Rowell!!!!
