I was excited when he dropped to us. Now, I think he's a friggin bum.
He's asking Heyward Bey money and he doesn't deserve it since he ain't proved shit in the NFL.
He's supposed to make X amount due to the NFL slotting pay scale.
Man, I wish someone would knock some sense upside his head.
Singletary even talked about how he held out and missed about a week of practice because he felt he was a 1st rounder ( he was taken in the 2nd). So Sing can relate to this beyotch.
I'd have to say Michael Craptree is the biggest douche-tard in the NFL. Yes, surpassing TO.
Yes, I agree That Craptree is full of himself. I also think the reason why he's held out this long is because He's got too many "Yes" Men in his camp saying that he should get Top 5 money and not settle for anything less. I hope he sits out and get drafted in the 5th round in next year's draft. That way that he would have to earn his paycheck instead of trying to negotiate for it. This Guy and his Boys are a Joke! If he really wanted to be a top 5 pick and get top 5 money then he and his boys should consider the UFL and play for the California Redwoods. I hear they need a WR over there.
ReplyDeleteMichael Crabtree is going to go down the road in the same manner of Mike Williams and Maurice Clarett. Yeah, brownie points for those who even remember those two numnuts from just four years ago.
ReplyDeleteThey all may have had different situations, but ultimately their results will be the same.
Craptree, as Elish tagged him, might elect to re-enter the 2010 NFL Draft, only to exit the NFL as quickly as he (finally?) joins it.
Wide receivers take much longer than any other skill position on the offense to develop.
Running backs have the easiest transition to the NFL, since they only need to learn pass-blocking duties and running plays. One-cut, pitch, misdisrection, max protect, etc. Simple.
Quarterbacks, depending on the scheme they played in college, are probably more adaptable than wide receivers, who not only have to learn passing routes, but also block for running plays.
You know why Josh Morgan stays in on every play? That guy's a beast on his blocks, springboarding Frank Gore on that first 79-yard touchdown run.
My point is: Craptree is hurting himself more by sitting out these valuable learning weeks he's been missing. The playbook is much more complicated to a WR than a RB.
Also, QB's have less pressure to make an impact immediately since they have a honeymoon period of about three years. Although they may take that long to develop, at least you know they have time.
Wide receivers? Not so much. They really only have about two years, max, to see whether they're NFL material or not. See: Williams, Mike.
By stunting his growth over selfish antics, Michael Craptree is definitely a major douchebag, who's only going to be ruining his own career, anyway.
Craptree is just getting bad advice from his people, one of which has a criminal history that includes a misuse of funds and that happens to be his cousin!!! Great not only your advisor is your cousin but also has a criminal record.
ReplyDeleteDude, stand up for yourself, go to Santa Clara and sign the contract. It doesn't matter how much is at this point, the money will be more than what you will be getting if you re-enter the draft next season!!!!!
Do I think that he was the worst player ever drafted? Eh. Naw.
ReplyDeleteDo I think that he is the worst player one could ever attempt to sign? Sure.
He somehow is convinced that this is the best bargaining position that he could ever be in. He is ignoring that players who are great earn better contracts throughout their careers. Players like Terrell Owens or a Randy Moss didn't sweat their rookie contracts, they just earned bigger ones...awww yeah...it got BIGGER.
I really think that trading his rights for a number 1 pick would be the best case scenario for the Niners. I'm fine with Glenn Coffee being the best pick from this draft (so far).
Given our current situation at OT, this issue only makes me mad when I recall that we could have drafted Michael "Do you see that girl over there" Oher.
But I can't knock him for holding out for more money, even if I personally would not. It's the nature of pro sports.
As annoying as this is, I would care more if the Niners were 0-2 and liked to pass the ball.
