Like all responsible adults I get my news from....Facebook?
Apparently, the Cow Palace is up for sale again. Once sold, the land can be used for just about anything from housing to landfill.
There is a movement to save the Cow Palace but given the current economic climate and other factors it wouldn't surprise me if this is it.
All I can think of are the many events (mostly wrestling) that I've seen in that very arena. Kinda sad but commonplace.
So that led me to a conversation with my co-worker and an idea. I guess I should go there one more time. One more event. Bring a camera. Film something. Just in case.

The website says that they want to replace it for retail shops. Retail shops?? You think the average shopper would go to that area and check out the latest sales from Contempo?? Hopefully shoppers will stop by that liquor store across the street for some gum, heard the people there are friendly!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf they are going to shut down the Cow Palace, the WWE should have one last event there, either a raw or just a house show, to say goodbye!! Other last events they should do include a warrior and usf dons game, and import car show starring francine dee......
man, that can't be true. the times I've went to the cow palace were for car shows (battle of the imports) two of them and I actually went there for a rave. aww yeahh...
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if that area could support shops, especially given the current state of the economy and that stonestown/serramonte is only a short 10 min drive away.
