John Hughes....

is directly responsible for how I remember the 80's.

The talented writer/director died recently of a heart attack. Hughes is well known for many hit films. Though his film legacy will most likely be tied to the "high school" film genre that he helped define.

If I had to choose one film (there are many choices: Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Sixteen Candles, etc.) I would have to take "Some Kind of Wonderful".

Considered his most unloved high school film, "Some Kind of Wonderful" had a great cast (which consisted of Eric Stoltz, Lea Thompson and Mary Stuart Masterson) and an equally memorable soundtrack. The film has a good following that consider the film a mulligan for the film "Pretty In Pink" (well at least the ending).

I personally love the film and watch it often. But for many fans of Hughes, there are many of his films to enjoy. What is your favorite?
