As tweeted by Bucher: "Sources are mixed on if Amare-to-GS still happens. My hunch is yes because Nelly wants him and Phx wants to move on."
Earlier reports from the San Jose Mercury News Tuesday that Stoudemire had now interest in joining the Warriors or signing an extension with the team.

I wonder if the Warriors could change the trade....Wright, Marco, Maggette, and a 2029 second round pick for Amare?? The Suns seems like they want to look ahead to the future w/o Amare, well a 2029 pick sounds perfect!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou're not that far off, Kris!
ReplyDeleteI think the sticking point is, indeed, another commodity.
If Phoenix is intent on a 1st round pick, and the Warriors cannot offer their 2010 edition, perhaps the 2011 1st round pick would suffice?
Come on, the world is going to end in 2012 anyway, right!?
It looks more like the Warriors like the idea of trading for Amare and letting him go. It would generate more interest in the club short term and make them more attractive to perspective new owners.
ReplyDeleteThey could then let Amare go and take in the savings for that new lower salary cap.
Whatever, I would be happy if they traded Corey for a bag of Trolli Gummi Bears and spare parts (i.e. the Crawford to ATL deal).
But, Phil's right. Who cares, we're all gonna die anyway.
