Hell Yeah! The Giants should go after Penny. He looks like a good starter. Not to take anything away from joe martinez & Jonathon Sanchez but if you are in the midst of a playoff birth and you only have to spend $1 million to use him for 2 months with the type of talent that he has, then I'd say do it. So, I say this to you Brian Sabean, put in the waiver claim so that the Rockies can't get him. Cuz if my memory serves me right with the waiver claim the order of the waiver wire would be the worst team gets first dibbs and since the Giants are behind the Rockies in the standings that mean the giants get to call dibbs first. I Doubt the Marlins will want him. Pitching has got the Giants in the Wildcard race and now the NL WEST and with the addition of Penny it could take us deep into the PLayoffs and If Penny is the same player we saw as a Marlin and a Dodger then I would say the Giants will have the sickest Starting Picthing staff in all of baseball.
hmmm....take a Penny....leave a Penny.It's a very Red Sox v. Yankees kinda move if we only do it to block someone else. And that's not necessarily bad. It's worth doing if we're that close (playoff birth) and we are.
