In the tradition of Don Nelson Warrior action, sorta Franchise player Stephen Jackson wants to run. Run right out of Golden State (where is that again?).
Our own Roto and the San Jose Mercury News is reporting that Jackson now wants to play for a contender (why now?!?!). Which leads me to wonder why the lord he signed a 3yr deal with the Warriors anyway. He very well could have left for any team of his choosing. Especially, the destinations that he currently prefers such as Cleveland (not shocking), Knicks (because all Ex-Warriors must go there to get enough units to graduate on stage) and pretty much all 3 Texas Teams (sounds familiar).
Again, this is not unheard of. Jackson wanted big money a few months ago...from anyone. It's just now he sees the result of short sighted thinking (to be fair, the Warriors drafted yet another guard in Curry and are still trying to retain Watson). Meanwhile, the world renown Warriors brain- trust now has additional buyer's remorse.
So what's probably next?
The Warriors can do a few things. Any trade involving Jackson and Wright is easily in the works (and thus more attractive for buyers). The take back may be nicer than any Warriors trade without Jackson be it player and/or picks.
So let me be the first one to bid our Captain adieu. And with it another "We Believe" t-shirt becomes house clothes or a car rag. I always hoped that he was the go down with the ship kinda Captain (see: Titanic) but hey this is Golden State.
I just love all the pictures in this blog!!! Straight G!!!!
ReplyDeleteCaptain Jack cannot be the best player on any team for them to succeed . He has to be the second or even third best player in order for success. He has what David Wood gots tho, heart!!!
With that said, trading him to a contender with players like a LeBron, Dirk, or CP3 will keep him more honest of his game because he doesn't have to make those passes in traffic and shoot at a high volume because of the talent he has around him. A good example was when the Warriors made that emotional playoff run in 2007 where he was probably the 2nd/3rd best player on the W's. He fits perfectly in that role!!!!
I'm not sure if you read Kawakami's points on the situation but it could start the domino affect until Cohan sells. The pains of being a Warrior fan....
ReplyDeleteWait there's fuckin' less.
ReplyDeleteNow it seems that Ellis is next out the door (as per the Mercury News).
I've decided to stay away from the arena until they just blow up this entire franchise.
I am still down for a Warriors at Kings game. But that may be it this year. I pay for cable, I will scream at them from the comfort of home.
Sucks. Larry Ellison you're our only hope.
Larry Ellison is the only hope for both the Dubs AND Niners. Problem is, the just won't sell.
ReplyDeleteSo what's a package of SJax and Monta going to fetch?
I am assuming it begins and ends with Josh Howard, but who else is tradeable on the Mavs roster?
JKidd? Not at this Warriors rebuilding stage?
Dirk? That would be counter-productive for them.
Besides, why would anyone want to leave with Mikki Moore coming to the Yay?
ReplyDeleteAnd even the Quiet Storm aka CJ Watson is staying a while longer!

ReplyDeleteHey Phil dont forget the W's getting Devean George too....why would they leave the W's with these guys here??
ReplyDeleteSay we trade, Ellis, Jackson, Wright. I would gladly take back whatever is left of Kidd's skills and Josh "Cause I got high" Howard in a trade with the Mavs.
ReplyDeleteStarting lineup:
Kidd
Morrow
Howard
Randolph
Beidrins
Bench:
Watson
Curry
Maggette
Moore
Turiaf
Playing Golf w/ Mookie Blaylock:
George
Law
Claxton
Fine. I'd watch that on tv for a season.
